Introduction to Albalon Eye Drops 15ml

Albalon Eye Drops 15ml is used to treat inflammation (redness and swelling) due to allergies of the eye. It helps provides relief from red, itchy, and watery eyes. Albalon Liquifilm is for external use only.

Follow the instructions given by your doctor and use this medicine regularly to get the most benefit. You should gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid and wipe off extra liquid. This medicine is manufactured by Allergan India.

Always wash your hands and do not touch the end of the dropper. This could infect your eye. Make sure you remove contact lenses if you wear them and wait for at least 15 minutes before putting them back.  Never use a bottle if the seal is broken before you use it for the first time.

Do not use this medicine, if you have an eye problem (glaucoma) and untreated Eye infection. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works.

How Does Albalon Eye 15ml  Works?

Albalon Liquifilm is an antihistamine for the eye that treats allergic symptoms by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine). It is also a mast cell stabilizer that prevents allergic reactions by reducing the release of natural substances that cause an allergic reaction. This relieves eye swelling, discomfort, itching and irritation.

Dosage of Albalon Eye 15ml

For Albalon Eye Drops 15ml, typically, instill 1 or 2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 3 to 4 hours as needed to relieve redness and irritation. Avoid exceeding the recommended frequency, and do not use for more than a few days without consulting a doctor to prevent rebound redness or other side effects.

Side Effects of Albalon Eye 15ml 

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to Manage Side Effects? 

• Always use the eye medication as prescribed by your healthcare provider or as directed on the packaging.

• If you experience mild side effects, they may resolve on their own with time. If they persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
• If you experience severe or concerning side effects, seek immediate medical attention.
• Do not stop using the eye medication without consulting your doctor, especially if you are using it to treat a specific eye condition.
• If you experience eye irritation or discomfort after using the medication, consult your doctor to ensure proper application and rule out any underlying issues.
• Avoid touching your eyes with dirty hands or contaminated dropper tips to prevent infection.

Warnings & Precautions

1. Not for Long-Term Use:

• Prolonged or excessive use may cause rebound redness (worsening of redness after stopping the drops) or dependence. Use only as directed, usually not more than a few days.

2. Avoid Use in Certain Eye Conditions:

• Do not use if you have narrow-angle glaucoma or serious eye infections unless advised by a doctor. May worsen these conditions.

3. Allergic Reactions:

• If you experience itching, swelling, rash, or worsening redness, discontinue use and consult your doctor.

4. Systemic Effects:

• Although rare, absorption through the eye can cause systemic effects like increased blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, or nervousness, especially in children or sensitive individuals. Use with caution in people with hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, or taking MAO inhibitors or other sympathomimetic drugs.

5. Contact Lens Wearers:

• Remove soft contact lenses before applying the drops. Wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting lenses.

6. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:

• Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a healthcare professional.

7. Do Not Share:

• To prevent contamination and infection, do not share the eye drops with others.

Storage

• Store the eye drops at room temperature, ideally between 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F).
• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
• Protect from light and heat.
• Do not freeze the drops.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Discard the drops 4 weeks after opening (or as indicated on the packaging) to avoid contamination.
