Introduction to Predmet 1% Eye Drops

Predmet 1% Eye Drop belongs to a group of medicine called steroids. It is used for the treatment of redness and swelling in the eyes caused by infection or allergy. It provides relief from redness, itchiness and soreness by stopping the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.

Never use Predmet 1% Eye Drop if the seal is broken before you use it for the first time. Wash your hands before using it and shake the bottle well before each use. Make sure you remove contact lenses if you wear them and wait for at least 15 minutes before putting them back.

Do not stop using this medicine without asking your doctor. Stopping the medication before time may allow the bacteria to continue their growth, which may result in the return of the infection.

How Does Predmet 1% Eye Drops Work?

Predmet 1% Eye Drops contains Prednisolone, a corticosteroid that works by reducing inflammation in the eye. It blocks the release of substances that cause swelling, redness, and irritation by suppressing the immune response. This helps relieve symptoms like pain, itching, and discomfort in various non-infectious inflammatory eye conditions.

Serious Side Effects

Dosage of Predmet 1%

Overdose

Avoid using more than the prescribed dosage. In case of an accidental overdose, promptly seek medical advice. Depending on the dosage, symptoms may vary.

Missed a Dose

Use the medicine as quickly as you can, but leave out the missed dose if it is close to your next dose time. Do not take two doses at the same time.

Warning & Precautions 

1. Use Only Under Medical Supervision

• Long-term or unsupervised use can cause serious eye problems like glaucoma, cataracts, or secondary infections.

2. Monitor Eye Pressure

• Prolonged use can increase intraocular pressure (IOP) and lead to glaucoma. Regular eye pressure checks are important.

3. Avoid Contact Lens Use

• Remove contact lenses before applying drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting. Preservatives may damage lenses or irritate the eyes.

4. Caution in Herpes Simplex Keratitis

• Using steroids in viral eye infections (like herpes simplex) may worsen corneal damage.

5. Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

• Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor. Risk to the baby is not well established.

6. Children & Elderly

• Use with caution. Children are more sensitive to side effects, and elderly may be at higher risk for pressure-related issues.

7. Do Not Stop Abruptly

• Sudden discontinuation after long-term use may lead to rebound inflammation.
