Introduction to Acevilda M 500 mg Tablet
Acevilda M 500 is a combination of Metformin and Vildagliptin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetic agents. Acevilda M 500 is used to treat type 2 diabetes (also known as non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus) in adult patients, whose diabetes cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone and/or with other medicines used to treat diabetes (insulin or sulphonylureas such as glimepiride, glipizide).
Type 2 diabetes is a chronic medical condition in which the body does not make enough insulin, or the produced insulin does not work well. Symptoms include excessive urination, excessive thirst, hunger, fatigue, and blurred vision.
Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production and intestinal absorption of glucose and improves insulin sensitivity (increases peripheral glucose uptake and utilization). Vildagliptin works by making the pancreas produce more insulin and less glucagon, thus leading to a decrease in blood glucose levels. Along treatment with Acevilda M 500, follow regular exercise and diet plan as advised by your doctor to achieve better results.
Before taking Acevilda M 500 inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or heart problems. It should be used during pregnancy only if advised by your doctor and not recommended for use in breast-feeding women. Acevilda M 500 is not suitable for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age and it should be used with caution in elderly patients (65 years of age and above).
Acevilda M 500 is manufactured by Mattox Healthcare. It is an Indian Non-Government Company.
